First day was SUPER glorious, blues skys and a solid 15ºc which mate it an absolute delight to take a stroll to and around Osaka Castle

After a day ‘touristing’ I had to head to Kobe for me first show of the tour, found the venue easily and met with some old Japanese friends but then the fun began, my laptop wouldn’t start and it didn’t matter what I did it would re-boot, I was to the point where I begun setting up a supplementary set on a friends computer (a set that wouldn’t have come close) I also started having visions of a tour without a laptop (appealing in ways but not when so unexpected) + it would mean I could do my live video processing at a few very important events.

Eventually one of the other performance ‘Akihiro’ took to my laptop armed with his iPhone and some in-depth instruction direct from the Japan Apple site and managed to re-boot it for me after an 1 1/2 hours trying, he definitely saved the day.

All that played where really great in unique ways.

Everything went great @ The Judith Wright Centre for the closing performance of my video installation, after that though thing didn’t go so well sending Oren Ambarchi off very early the next morning with Brisbane Qantas staff seeming to have ‘massive’ issues with a Gibson Les Paul being taken onto the plane, the very same Gibson that had no problems with him bringing up in the cabin, many headaches later and a lot of lost sleep…..

FAST FORWARD….. I’m now in Japan sitting in a hotel in Osaka completely exhausted and about to commence 12 nights if playing straight all over Japan (click the urls for more details)

Been seeing more rain this week than I think I’ve ever seen ever since living in QLD (about 4 years). Buss busy right now, dropped into the Judith Wright Centre the other night for some video/window screen testing, things look good, still have a bunch more testing to do but otherwise everything is going to plan.

AXXONN is of course busy, J is also super busy acclimatising to Brisbane life at a rapid rate
